Having danced since the age of 3, Alexandra has always been physically active and enjoyed learning how to push the body’s limits and boundaries. In 2011, Alexandra received an injury while dancing in New York. Upon coming home for the summer, she began rehabilitation at SCPT&P and experienced Pilates on the Reformer for the first time. Alexandra fell in love with the discipline and principles of Pilates, how it improved her mind-body connection and ultimately her dancing! Once her therapy was completed, Alexandra joined SCPT&P as a physical therapy aide. Convinced about the role Pilates had played in her rehabilitation, Alexandra decided to get certified as a Pilates instructor. By December 2011, Alexandra had completed Body Arts and Science International’s (BASI) Comprehensive Teacher Training Course and was teaching as a part-time Pilates instructor at SCPT&P. Since completing the course and passing her Certification test in October 2012, Alexandra has also taken and received Certifications for the following continuing education courses: The Avalon System, Pilates for Injuries and Pathologies, Pilates for Chronic Pain Syndromes and Pilates for Dancers. In addition to these accomplishments, Alexandra was recently promoted to the Pilates Studio Director at SCPT&P. Alexandra strives to share her love and enjoyment of Pilates with her clients and staff, helping them to understand that Pilates isn’t just a workout, it’s a lifestyle.

Lisa bought her first piece of fitness equipment, a jump rope, at the age of 10. This was the start of a lifelong interest in health and wellness. Her passion led her to a 10 year career teaching fitness classes, personal training, training and certifying instructors, and managing the Group Fitness program for the Saddleback Valley YMCA. She left the fitness arena for the riding arena and has been teaching horseback riding for the past 7 years. A very positive experience with Pilates in the Post Rehab program at SCPT rekindled her interest in fitness. She is convinced that Pilates is the way to lifelong health and wellness and enjoys sharing that message with her students. She recently completed her certification through ABC Pilates (Balanced Body University curriculum) and is grateful to be part of a team that is truly committed to bringing the benefits of Pilates to the community.
